A bit of Henke magic gave 3 points
On a cold, snow mixed rain Wednesday night, LBK Gottfridsberg's B-Team travelled to the small village of Grytgöl. Nine men, two boys and an old man dressed to battle against the green warriors of Grytgöls IK. With the "Old Man" and his assistant coach for the evening, Rolf "The Chairman" Andersson watched as Gotte attacked from the start. Fine football was being played despite the game being played on sand/gravel. Two excellent saves from Grytgöls keeper kept them in the game but after 15 minutes, a foul on Ibbe (P-95) resulted in a penalty. Emil Molinder coolly placed the ball past the keeper and into the back of the Grytgöl's net, 1-0. Gotte pressed on, and many chances were missed to increase the lead. On 30 minutes, it was time for the old man to come in and strengthen the back line. Grytgöl pressed hard for the equalizer before the half time break but it was to no avail. Second half started just like the first with Gotte fighting hard to increase their lead. After 15 minutes and one stretch too many, it was time for the old man to hobble off. As the match increased, it seemed that Grytgöl were gaining a twelve man on the pitch, and decisions were not going Gotte's way. A foul awarded in the 75 minute (don't know why) resulted in JD having to pick the ball out of Gotte's net, 1-1. Gotte's enthusiasm was not deflated and five minutes later, the lead was regained. It was time for that bit of Henke magic, Henrik Johansson picked up the ball just inside the Grytgöl's half, twisting right then left, dribbled pass three men, then calmly curled the ball into the back Grytgöls net, 1 - 2.
The fighting spirit of Gotte held out for the 15 minutes, resulting in the first 3 points of the season. Well done!
